For an event so well known, there had been almost no advertising. The venue located in an old warehouse near the docks that had been renovated purposefully for such an event. And yet it had drawn quite a large local crowd - to the displeasure of some.

Everybody that pays the entry fee receives a free glass of champagne and a small bottle of UV paint in their prefered colour upon entry.

Michaela’s return to Siren Cove officially meant that Ethan’s vacation time had kicked in. He didn’t really want to leave, considering Michaela was only just back from being stuck on a desert island for 5 days. And she could be hurt or unfit for work. But the other had insisted he take the time off. So he cycled home, frowning a little to himself as he thought that he should have been a little more forceful. He’d take the holiday in a few days, his sisters would cope with him visiting later than planned. Although they’d no doubt tease him, (Holly would just shake her head and make an unpleasant comment about the woman, much to Ethan’s annoyance).

As soon as he stepped into his bedroom, he saw Esther sprawled across his bed. His suitcase open adjacent to her, and stuffed with clothes that had not been there that morning. “I packed for you,” she stated, “All your favourite things.” Ethan was about to ask what she was doing here, considering he was going to drive – but he barely had to open his mouth before she answered. “Because your Mom called and said you were having vacation reconsideration ideas. And I know for a fact there are a lot of people looking forward to seeing you again, so you better not skip on them.”

With an unpleased groan she pushed herself off the bed. Smiling brightly at her best friend when she was finally stood up. Sauntering over to him, Esther grabbed the front of his shirt so he’d bend down, allowing her to kiss the tip of his nose. “And you’re meant to be staying at mine tomorrow night, so I’d be super pissed if you didn’t show up. I got all the supplies and we have the whole house for movies or whatever.”

He stood a little dumb struck as he watched his best friend finished packing his case and handed it to him. His Mom greeted them both at the bottom of the stairs, kissing them both goodbye and handing Ethan another suitcase full of presents for his sisters, brothers-in-law and his nieces. “Take care of my baby!” She yelled to Esther, waving as they both climbed into the woman’s car. Ethan waved out the window, blowing dramatic air kisses to his Mom until they were out the drive and heading down the street. Esther smiled, turning the music on, “Don’t worry, I’ll take excellent care of you.”
