CHARACTER NAME: Ethan Noah Dobroslaw Bialecki
CHARACTER AGE: 21
SPECIES: Human
BACKGROUND & HISTORY: Ethan was born and raised in New York city, by his parents. That was until his parents divorced when he was 12 years old. Ethan wasn’t too upset about it, his father would be leaving the family home and that was all the better in his opinion. As the baby, with four older sisters, he was used to being the goofy, entertaining sibling. The apple of his mother and sisters’ eyes who encouraged his more caring and gentile side, alongside a quirky fashion sense. His father, a first generation from Polish immigrants, was (and is) constantly disappointed that his son lacks the seriousness required for the career in politics. The career they decided upon when Ethan was 10 years old. As was a Bialecki tradition and all of his sisters are well on track to their chosen positions. Ethan finished high school in New York, spending every second weekend at his father’s new flat and hating every moment. Especially when his father started dating again.
After his Mom came out of a bad relationship when Ethan was 18 years old, they, along with his youngest older sister moved to Siren Cove. It was a definite change of pace from New York, and Ethan initially (and still often) struggled with how entrapped he felt in such a small town. For the first couple of years he took odd jobs, mainly freelance online work. That was until his father found the opportunity to sign him up to intern with one of the toughest government officials in Maine. To say Ethan survived his first day was probably an overstatement, but he’s been there ever since. A combination of sudden pay (that he doesn’t understand is essentially bribe money) and a certain Michaela are the only real reasons he stays.
PERSONALITY: Ethan is a complete push over, in a way that most would call endearing but others would no doubt sneer at. He loves his bulldog Buster, and cares deeply about those around him. Even if they aren’t particularly nice to him. He sees that as a sign he needs to be a better person rather than that they do. That isn’t to say Ethan has no fire in his belly, but it’s more to defend others than himself. He isn’t afraid to cry, or talk about his feelings, in a way that the world may call un-masculine. He likes to think of himself as progressive – because he’s seen his mother cry and she is the strongest, most successful person he knows. Ethan finds women much easier to associate with than men, mainly because he has grown up surrounded by women and distanced from the male figure in his life.
OPINION OF THE RIVALRY: He has no real opinion on the rivalry. Considering he knows nothing of witches. Although he’d probably find it super weird how the Thorntons and Coombs current generation seem to have all pushed their animosity aside with no sort of meetings or conversation. He’s seen his sisters when they’re mad. They don’t suddenly become BFFs overnight, so it seems suspicious.
LIFESTYLE: Ethan works for Tyra Shanks, although his boss is essentially Michaela (who he has a crush on and therefore mistakenly wants to please her as much as possible). Ethan likes clothes, and has a very bright and unusual sense of style. Although quirky rather than just bad. His ability to be in touch with his feminine side is mistaken often as a sign that he is therefore overly camp, or to the more close minded, that he must therefore be gay. (His father seems to think that anyway). He enjoys a lot of things, clothes, eating out, theatre, museums and sightseeing. All the things that are in ready supply in New York and less so in Siren Cove. His family are pretty well off, (although in no means rich), but enough money that he takes spontaneous trips back home and sleeps at one of his older sister’s houses as three of them still live in New York, New York. Currently he still lives at home with his Mom, sure, he’s a Mommy’s Boy.
POWERS &ABILITIES: Ethan knows about Sirens. Purely because one of his best friends at school was one. He doesn’t know about witches or magic though, although will determine he is suspiciously immune to Sirens charm.
