He lights it and inhales carefully, but his eyes still water as he holds the smoke in his lungs until it burns. He blows it out and coughs a little, because it really is not often that he does this. He hands the joint back to Mira and watches a nearby couple making out with unabashed curiosity, even tilting his head when the man slides his hand up under the girl's shirt to grope at her chest.
"You know, if I ever were to be with a girl, it'd probably be you," he says casually, still staring at the couple. He means it as a compliment, really. Mira's awesome. "Or Lara Quinn. Do you know her? She's super hot, right?"
They've never had a frank discussion about sexuality, but Davin's been out since senior year and he just gets the vibe that Mira's into girls. It's not a big deal, so Davin mentions it casually to let her know that she can be open with him. She can also just ignore it, and Davin won't bring it up again. Her choice.
